Searching for information

Started by Christine Presley

Hello

My mother was originally from Long Crendon and we had many happy holidays at my grandparents hous in Hill Top. Sadly the house was knocked down years ago. I understand that my great grandmother was a lace maker and lived in a pink cottage in the village. My grandad was in the army and spent some time in India. His name was William Webb. My son is very interested in finding mor information about his army career but all I know is that he was in the Kings Hussars. Would anyone be able to give us any information to help us along please.

Hi Adam
Thanks for getting in touch. I am indeed Uncle Bills neice. My mum was his sister Pat whom they used ti cal Tis. How are your grandparents? I do remember Alistair and his brother Andrew. Unfortunately, as my mum left Long Crendon at quite a young age we didn't see as much of our cousins and other relatives as we may have liked. do you have my Grandads service number and regiment. that would be really helpful.

My email address is Christinepresley953@msn.com

Thanks again
