Athletics – Vale of Aylesbury Athletics Club

Description

Vale of Aylesbury Athletic Club, established in 1893, welcomes athletes of all abilities who want to improve in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Our sessions are supported by qualified, experienced coaches who can offer individual advice on training, competing, nutrition, footwear and injury prevention. We are affiliated to England Athletics for athletics.

Our Mission: To be the best Athletics Club in Buckinghamshire by providing good quality Coaching and facilities for all Club Members. By catering for all ages and abilities we will build a large Community Athletics Club helping its members to fulfil their dreams and ambitions.

We are fortunate to benefit from a variety of training squads coordinated by a number of UKA qualified coaches, which include sprints, middle distance running, hurdles, jumps, throws, multi-events and road/cross country running. The majority of our squads train outdoors year round, but we do arrange for indoor facilities to accommodate our younger groups during the Winter months.

Most of our squads meet and train on both a Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium athletics track. The 8 lane, synthetic track comprises all the facilities for standard events and special facilities for disabled athletes. The facility is also floodlight which allows for year round training. We hire the facility from the Stoke Mandeville Stadium which entitles all our members to use the sport centre’s changing facilities.

Junior – Those aged between 8 and 20 (Kestrel groups have separate membership form)

Senior – Those aged 21 years and over.
